About us

We are the Rabids

The Rabids were initially founded as a punkrock band in the rural Kempen region of Belgium. After their first EP No Dinner, No Wine, they burst into the world of ska and even dabbled into some reggae. Most members of the band, both in the founding fathers and in later additions, find their origins in classical music after playing in various marching bands and brass bands in Belgium.

This is what we stand for

The Rabids stand for a good time, and want to help you dance & skank through the night. The Rabids originals are laden with heartfelt and real emotions, yet make you forget about the worries of today. Move your body, stomp your feet!

 This is who we are

JENTOF

Guitar, Vocals, Songwriter

Jentof, the main songwriter of the band, gained invaluable experience playing the trumpet in the local marching band from 7 to 18. At 14 he picked up a guitar and branched into various punk bands.

Jytte

Vocals

Jytte is the main vocalist and front woman of the band. This powerhouse is schooled in saxophone and piano and has played in the local marching band. On stage, Jytte brings the fire.

Senna

Bass

Senna, one of the founding members of the band, plays the bass down low and turns the fun up high. He's a creative soul with a passion for all music.

Yannick

Guitar

Yannick plays the guitar really smoothly and laidback.
He is frequently seen rocking out barefoot or on flipflops. When he's not out travelling, you can find him checking out other live bands.

Kristof

Drums

Kristof keeps the reggae ska punk beats nice and tight with dynamic and energetic drumming that will keep the crowd moving and grooving. He's the third rabid founding father.

James

Trumpet, vocals, producer

James is our own little piece of English ska. Joining The Rabids after moving to Belgium from the UK, he brings killer brass chops from his trumpet and sweet harmonies with his voice.

Philip

Trombone

Philippe is the old geezer that plays the trombone while working on his midlife crisis.
He's the fun uncle of the band, who brings well-seasoned experience, wit and soulful energy to every performance.

Nele

Trombone

Nele, our go to girl when Philips midlifecrisis is acting up, is the newest addition to the family. When she is not tooting the trombone tremendously, she is bouncing around in a popdance & modern dance class.
